A Road to the Alamo: The Albert Martin Story
The Albert Martin story begins with the 17th century arrival of the Martin family in Southeastern New England and ends in San Antonio Texas on March 6, 1836 at the Battle of the Alamo. Through a combination of live-action dramatizations, historical documents, expert commentary, and compelling art and music, the film traces the arc of the lives of Albert’s grandfather Joseph Martin and father Joseph S. Martin providing the audience a glimpse into the world of a Rhode Island merchant family in the period between 1790 and 1836. Economic, political, social and family changes over a 40-year time frame were significant factors in Albert’s decision to find his fortune in Texas and his father’s attempt to reclaim a fading legacy.
